Nylon Products

Nylon (Polyamide or PA) is a family of materials first produced by DuPont in 1930, the most common being Nylon6, Nylon66, Nylon11 and Nylon12.

Nylon is characterised by its strong mechanical properties and smooth finish. These properties made it ideal for its first, and most common, use in fibres and fabrics. Famously this included Nylon stockings introduced in 1940. Shortly after introduction all Nylon production was moved to parachute production for the war effort.

Nylon is naturally a translucent white/yellow colour and today its strength and smooth, low-friction surface make it widely used in engineered parts.
